Who are Tomahawk Zulus?

Tomahawk Zulus are a social and community-based network of artists, activists, teachers, and students with deep roots in hip hop, DJing, breaking (dancing), emceeing (rapping), and graffiti art. These are the four original elements of hip hop. The fifth element of hip hop is knowledge. Knowledge is the foundation and the key to understanding one’s true path and purpose in life.

We, as Zulus, through Afrika Bambaataa‘s vision, use right knowledge, right wisdom, and right understanding to educate the masses about the foundation and traditions of true hip hop. In the past 35 years hip hop has been the largest influence on pop culture. Changing the way the world looks at music, fashion, art, dance, networking, even marketing and promotion; turning something that was started from almost nothing in the boroughs of New York City into a worldwide billion-dollar industry.

All of this was created and achieved through our individual innovations and talents as a hip hop community collectively. Our vision is to continue to enrich and preserve the culture of hip hop by implementing our knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to empower the youth by helping them to harness and use their talents to accomplish their goals and achieve their dreams.
